We drove to the ocean today - it was so beautiful! The girls had tons of fun chasing the waves and finding shells in the sand. As a repeat performance of when Madie was 3, Anika and I ran toward the ocean until the waves started toward us, when we ran back toward the shore, still getting our pants wet in the process, she cried and hated it! She liked it back a bit where the 'treasures' were!
We went to Newport Beach and saw dolphins and seals playing in the waves! There were about 4 dolphins jumping and playing - it was awesome!! There were lots and lots of people surfing, and people were fishing off the big pier.
we also took the little ferry over to Balboa Island, where the houses are unbelievably close together, but also cute and well maintained! The little ferry only holds 3 cars, we just walked on for the ride across.
We decided not to brave another hotel, so we headed for home, stopping to get the kids Mcdonalds on the way home in Palm Springs. The kids crashed in the car, we got home around 10:30 and shovelled them all into their beds!
